Teaching

My journey through the diverse landscapes of education, beginning with my roots in the Sri Lankan system, advancing through studies in the UK and Australia, and culminating in teaching roles across various institutions has profoundly shaped my approach to education. This rich tapestry of experiences has not only honed my teaching skills but also provided me with a unique perspective on the myriad ways learning can be facilitated and absorbed. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching more than 20 distinct courses, far too many students and each interaction further enriching my understanding and appreciation of the educational journey. This journey has not just been about imparting knowledge, but also about learning from the diverse array of students I’ve encountered, making my experience in education both broad and deeply impactful.

Teaching methods utilised in classes

Case study Method

The use of the case study method in classroom settings, that presents an interactive approach to learning that significantly enriches students’ educational experiences. This method, fosters an environment where critical thinking, practical application, and collaborative learning thrive. By incorporating ‘Think-Pair-Share,’ a collaborative learning strategy, into the case study methodology, I further intend to amplify the benefits of this approach.

Experiential Learning.

In my classroom, the adoption of experiential learning make learning a dynamic and engaging process for students. By integrating real-world experiences, opportunity to active experimentation, I create a learning environment where students are not merely passive recipients of information but active participants in their own learning journey.
